Pinot Grigio

Alto Adige DOC

Method

Fully ripe grapes are hand harvested and undergo gentle, soft pressing to prevent the must from taking on this variety’s copper-toned pigments. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 62 - 64 °F. After initial racking, the wine rests on its lees to develop body and great balance.

Tasting Notes

Straw yellow color with ripe apple-led fruit aromas. Dynamic and energetic on the palate, it offers a fresh aromatic symphony with a savory tang. It features vivid acidity and a persistent, mineral-driven finish.

Food Pairings

It’s an excellent aperitif and a very versatile partner to many different foods: seafood appetizers, fish dishes, flavorful soups, and white meats—a must-try with spicy cuisines.

Alto Adige is a German-speaking part of Italy. Dishes that marry the two cultures, like ravioli stuffed with alpine cheeses in brown butter sauce, pair wonderfully with this wine. Kettmeir Pinot Grigio’s flexible profile can be enjoyed on its own or with several kinds of dishes. From a simple chicken and vegetable sauté over herbed polenta to more decadent preparations like short ribs braised in onion cream sauce or fresh dishes like cold zucchini noodles with tarragon, capers, and hard-boiled eggs.
